The short version: yes, you can sell what you make. No, you cannot republish the pattern.
Yes, you can sell your finished pieces
Sell them at craft fairs, on Etsy, on Instagram, through your local shop, as many as you like. You do not need to ask me and you do not owe me a share.
No credit is required either. If you want to link back to the pattern, it is appreciated and it helps other makers find it, but it is not a condition of selling.
What you may do
- Make the pattern as often as you want, for yourself, as gifts, or to sell
- Change it freely: different yarn, different colours, different size, added or dropped details
- Link to the pattern post from anywhere
- Teach it in person, at a class or a craft group, as long as you send people to the original post instead of handing out copies
What you may not do
- Copy the pattern text onto another site, forum, group or PDF, even with credit
- Sell the pattern itself, on its own or inside a bundle
- Translate it and republish it as your own post
- Re-upload my photos as your own, or use them as the main image of another pattern post
- Turn the written instructions into a video or a printable and publish that without asking me first
The pattern text and every photo on Crochee are original work and they are copyrighted. Linking is always fine. Copying is not.
If you are writing a roundup
Bloggers, you are welcome to feature a Crochee pattern in a roundup. Use one photo, credit Crochee by name, and link both the photo and the title straight to the original pattern post.
Please do not reproduce the steps or the materials list. That is the whole permission, and you do not need to email me for it.
Where these patterns come from
I do not design them. I buy original patterns outright from experienced crocheters, who make the finished piece and shoot the step photos before it ever reaches the site.
Nothing here is reposted from somewhere else, which is exactly why these rules matter more on Crochee than on a site recycling other people’s free patterns.
Using patterns to train AI
Crochee’s patterns and photographs are not licensed for use as training data for machine learning or generative AI systems.
Found something copied?
If you see a Crochee pattern republished somewhere it should not be, send me the link through the Contact page and I will deal with it.
