Privacy Policy
This is the privacy policy for Crochee (https://crochee.com). It explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are.
Who we are
Crochee is a free crochet pattern site run by Muntaseer Rahman. Our website address is https://crochee.com. You can reach us through the contact form on our Contact page.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, the visitor’s IP address, and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized hash of your email address may be sent to Gravatar to check if you have an account. Gravatar’s privacy policy is at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible publicly alongside your comment.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you can opt in to saving your name, email, and website in a cookie so you don’t have to refill those fields next time. These cookies last one year.
Login and admin actions also set short-lived cookies for session and editor functionality. None of these contain marketing data.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (videos, images, social posts) from other sites. Those embeds behave the same as if you’d visited the source site directly, including their cookies and tracking.
Analytics and ads
We use server-side traffic analytics to understand which pages are read and how visitors navigate the site. We may also display ads served by third-party ad networks. Those networks may set their own cookies for ad personalization, subject to their own privacy policies.
Affiliate links
Some pattern posts include links to crochet supplies on Amazon and other retailers. If you click one of those links and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Clicking an affiliate link does not change what data we collect on Crochee itself.
How long we retain your data
Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so we can auto-approve follow-up comments instead of holding them in moderation. If you registered an account, the profile data you provided is stored until you delete the account.
Your rights
If you’ve left a comment or registered an account, you can request an export of the data we hold on you, or request that we erase it. We can’t erase data we’re legally required to keep.
To make a request, use the contact form. We’ll respond within a reasonable window.
